The Return of Boston Blackie (Silent) (MOD) (DVD MOVIE)

$18.92
No sooner does ex-jewel thief Boston Blackie promise himself he'll stay straight after he leaves prison than he winds up in the middle in a robbery involving a stolen necklace and a mysterious young woman named Sylvia, who's accused of its theft. Convinced of Sylvia's innocence, Blackie is determined to set the situation right, even if it means he might have to rely on his corrupt thievery skills one final time to do it.

The character of Boston Blackie, legendary safecracker-turned-sleuth, first appeared in popular short stories penned by author Jack Boyle as early as 1914. He was then portrayed in several silents of the era, followed by a Columbia-produced Boston Blackie film series and two separate radio series during the 1940s. Blackie eventually made his television debut with the 1950s TV series The Adventures of Boston Blackie.

Raymond Glen was a rodeo performer before becoming a leading man of silent Westerns (billed as Bob Custer). With the advent of talkies, Glen continued with the genre in movies such as Under Texas Skies (1930) and Law of the Rio Grande (1931). One of Hollywood's first animal stars, German shepherd Strongheart the Dog's film career launched with The Silent Call (1921). He was the original inspiration for Rin Tin Tin. Harry O. Hoyt authored over 80 screenplays during his career in addition to directing a number of silent movies, including A Broadway Saint (1919), The Law Demands (1924) and The Lost World (1925).
