Born in the upper-crust of Manhattan society, May McAvoy will always be remembered for co-starring with Al Jolson in The Jazz Singer (1927). Some of her classic silent performances include The Enchanted Cottage (1924), Lady Windermere's Fan (1925) and Ben-Hur: A Tale Of The Christ (1925). Jack Mulhall's career stretched from the silent era into the 1950s, but he is best remembered for serial cliffhangers including The Three Musketeers (1933), Burn 'Em Up Barnes (1934) and The Clutching Hand (1936).

The Jazz Age has struck hard in the Herrington mansion. Three o'clock every afternoon is "starting time" when about a hundred of scion Jack's Herrington's closest friends descend upon the estate and the bootleg gin, debauchery and casual sex flow in abundance until the following morning. Jack's wastrel life is disturbed when Cathleen Gillis returns home from college and he falls hard for the beautiful working-class girl. He is faced with a impossible choice - give up booze and parties or lose Cathleen forever.
