A family feud is erupting into an all-out range war and Tom Rork is caught in the fray. Heading into the town of Wolf Bend to rejoin his father's ranch, Tom learns of a bitter falling out between the neighboring Rork and O'Neil families. Ranch hand Jim Ramsey has been murdered, and the same mysterious gunman is aiming to kill Tom. The initial evidence puts the murder weapon squarely in the hands of young Danny O'Neil. Tom has evidence to the contrary. He joins up with Danny and his sister Gloria to ferret out the real killer and put the Rork/O'Neil rivalry to rest.
Tom Tyler got his start as a silent-era stuntman, but he soon moved up to leading roles in a number of B-movie westerns. The 1930s saw him taking a back seat in a number of major studio pictures with larger budgets, though his work in westerns and serials (notably the title role in Captain Marvel) continued until rheumatoid arthritis crippled both his career and his body. Ridin' On also features the prolific Rex Lease and Joan Barclay, credited here as Geraldine Greer.
