After foiling an attempt to cheat Indians out of their gold, cowpuncher Jack Loomis is offered the position of ranch foreman by George Tully, who secretly heads a band of thieves and plans on implicating the newcomer in their crimes. Jack is accused of robbing the local Pony Express office and arrested by the town marshal, whose pretty daughter Madge believes him innocent. After making a daring getaway, Jack must prove his innocence before the law catches up with him.

A veteran of the early silent-movie era, Jack Perrin had already starred in more than 100 feature films and short subjects (most of them Westerns) when he made North of Arizona for producer Harry S. Webb. Jack and his magnificent white stallion, Starlight, were warmly received by horse-opera fans well into the 1930s, when competition from younger cowboy stars and increasingly slipshod productions finally undermined his starring career and drove him into supporting roles. - Ed Hulse
