Handsome and carefree Robert S. Beanblossom (Bob Cummings) is irresistible to women. Perhaps that is why such a clueless real estate salesman is a hero in the eyes of secretary Julie Marshall (Julie Bishop). Boss Willis Thackery (John Litel) sees things differently and tries to reign in Bob's bumbling antics. In spite of his efforts, Mr. Thackery's small Hollywood firm is the scene of a never ending parade of uproarious adventures. Loyal sidekick Julie always tries to fix Bob's unwitting slip-ups, but only seems to makes things worse and a whole lot funnier.
My Hero was the first of four sitcoms starring Bob Cummings. It was followed by

JAILBREAK: Bob winds up in jail after $5,000 of Mr. Thackery's money is accidentally lost.
SALT WATER DAFFY: A couple who keep trained seals as pets hire Bob to watch their house.
VERY SOUTH PACIFIC: The staff at the Thackery Realty Company take a vacation on a South Pacific island.
VIVA BEANBLOSSOM: Thackery and Bob are kidnapped by a pair of banditos on the Mexican border. Guest-starring character actor Nestor Paiva, best remembered for his roles in Mighty Joe Young (1949), Creature From the Black Lagoon (1954), Tarantula (1955), The Mole People (1956), and dozens of others.
