Mr. Lobo's Cinema Insomnia: Horrors of Spider Island (MOD) (DVD MOVIE)

Mister Lobo celebrates 20 years of hosting his show Cinema Insomnia. In the tradition of those classic horror shows like Chiller Theatre and Creature Features, host Lobo appears in brief vignettes between segments of the "late late night movie." His sidekick throughout this 18-year run has been an anthropomorphic houseplant named Miss Mittens. Cinema Insomnia has been seen on hundreds of local television and cable channels, and Lobo continues to be a regular guest at conventions like Wondercon and Monster Bash. He was even parodied in an episode of Scooby-Doo. Known as an advocate for "Bad Movies", Mr. Lobo lives by the motto, "They're not bad movies...just misunderstood."

Miss Mittens goes on vacation and leaves Mr. Lobo alone with a spicy horror film from Germany - Ein Toter hing im Netz, or Horrors of Spider Island as it's known in the States! Seven sexy chorus girls are chosen to perform at the opening of a hot new nightclub in Singapore. When their plane goes down over the Pacific Ocean, they wind up stranded on a strange tropical island. The steamy weather leads to flared tempers and underwear-clad catfights, until their male escort is bitten by a rabid arachnid and turns into a not-so amazing spiderous man - with a taste for the blood of babes! Mr. Lobo has to deal with some catfights of his own making when he opens up casting calls for a replacement for Miss Mittens. Desperate-yet-lovely Reel 7 Girls Jesse Seeherman and Dixie Dellamorto are soon competing for the coveted gig! It's cheesecake, sexism, satire, and cheap laughs when you're hangin' with Mr. L!
