Cowboy singing sensation Jimmy Wakely is back in the saddle for more six-gun thrills and excitement in this straight-shooting, hard-riding collection. One of the last of the cowpoke crooners, Wakely began his Western career as a country vocalist, providing musical support for Roy Rogers, Gene Autry, Hopalong Cassidy and other screen wranglers before ramrodding his own series of shoot-'em-ups, made for Monogram Pictures between 1944 and 1949. Accompanied by sidekicks John "Dusty" James, Lee "Lasses" White and Dub "Cannonball" Taylor, Wakely warbled his way through 28 oaters, and this action-packed volume ropes in six of his best, including Silver Trails (1948), which introduces Jimmy's old pal -- and future Monogram sage star -- the lash-cracking hero Whip Wilson!
