This rare five-part film series documents the life of St. Paul, the apostle who taught the gospel of Christ after the Crucifixion. Included are recreations of the Book of Acts and the Epistles of Paul, as well as his meeting with with the resurrected Jesus. G.H.W. Productions, who made many religious features in the 1940s, shot the films in 1938 at the famous Pinewood Studios in England. Never receiving a wide theatrical release, they were later distributed by United World Films to church groups and schools in 1955. The versatile actor who plays Paul from young adulthood to old age, Neal Arden, began his career as a ventriloquist's assistant in the 1920s. From there he had a long career in film, radio, and television, including roles in popular BBC miniseries like The Quatermass Experiment (1953) and I, Claudius (1975). Neal Arden died in 2014 at the age of 104.
