Devil's Cargo (MOD) (DVD Movie)

Gambler "Lucky" Conroy is found shot to death in his mansion. A small-time hood, Ramon Delgado, arrives at the apartment of private-eye Michael Waring, The Falcon, and confesses to the murder. He asks The Falcon to take possession of a mysterious key, until after his acquittal. Delgado is sure that he will be found innocent, once it is established that Conroy had been romancing his wife. Awaiting trial, Delgado himself is murdered in his prison cell. The Falcon must figure out who killed him and unlock the mystery behind the key.

John Calvert was a master magician, entertaining audiences with his art for eight decades. He worked as an actor in Hollywood, appearing in some 40 films. He starred as debonair sleuth Michael Waring, The Falcon, in Devil's Cargo, taking over the role previously portrayed by Tom Conway and George Sanders, and would reprise the role twice in Appointment With Murder (1948) and Search For Danger (1949). Devil's Cargo features a strong supporting cast including Rochelle Hudson, Roscoe Karns, Lyle Talbot and Thodore Von Eltz.
