Danger Street was promoted as the first "grown-up" movie for child star Jane Withers. After starring alongside Shirley Temple in Bright Eyes (1934) at the age of eight, she spent the rest of the '30's playing kid roles in countless 'B' pictures. Despite receiving a $375,000 trust fund on her 21rst birthday in 1947, Withers was anxious to prove herself as a serious dramatic actress. Co-star Robert Lowery portrayed the Caped Crusader in the 1949 Batman and Robin serial, and later starred as Big Tim Champion on the TV series Circus Boy (1956-1957). Director Lew Landers worked for nearly every studio in Hollywood making low-budget thrillers (The Raven, Tokyo Rose) and later turned his attention to television, directing popular series like Topper (1953-1955) and Highway Patrol (1955-1959).
