In WWI Europe, a German spy, Valdar, (Boris Karloff) is masquerading as the butler of a British war official (Holmes Herbert). Helene Von Lorbeer (Margaret Lindsay) is a counterspy sent to live with the British family and rendezvous with Valdar. She is searching for a key operative in the German spy ring. British Intelligence is an espionage thriller filled with intrigue, identity puzzles and plot twists. Karloff is menacing as Valdar, with his unsettling limp and icy performance.
