James Cagney is Nick Condon, a journalist working on the Tokyo Chronicle just prior to World War Two. He is a newspaperman determined to expose the truth at the risk of offending the Japanese government. When Condon finds the wife of a colleague murdered he suspects the military government is trying to suppress secret information about plans to conquer the world. He sets out to find the documents and make them public to the free world but first he must deal with the Japanese secret police. Blood On The Sun won an Academy Award for best direction in 1945.
