From hotshot former professional basketball players to champion competitive eaters, Season 30 features teams that are the best in their field with a few wildcard duos in between. Among the teams are: reality stars Cody Nickson and Jessica Graf ("Big Brother"), former basketball players Cedric Ceballos and Shawn Marion, professional race car drivers Conor Daly and Alexander Rossi, freestyle skiers Kristi Leskinen and Jen Hudak, and competitive eaters Joey Chestnut and Tim Janus. A pair of supermoms who created goat yoga, a couple from the an ivy league college debate team, and two violinists are also among the teams, who all vie for the ultimate prize as they race around the globe. Season 30 introduced "Head-to-Head" competitions, pitting two teams directly against one another, and a partner swap with another team for a leg of the Race. The teams traverse 29,000 miles through four continents and ten countries - including the Race's first stop in Bahrain - competing in various feats and challenges that test agility, strength and courage, and tailored to each stop's culture and heritage. In Antwerp, teams competed against each other in a "Frietrace." Dressed in french fry costumes, a team member raced an obstacle course, while pushing a dolly with bags of fries. In Thailand, a team member had to consume three cooked scorpions and a bullfrog, while their partner stood by with live scorpions crawling on them; and sail across a bay in Saint-Tropez on a dinghy with its rudder removed.
