Thirty-one-year-old Laurie has three beautiful children but they are not allowed to live with her. She has a master's degree in psychology but she's lost her job as a death row psychologist. Laurie is a pill addict. She started abusing Xanex after her marriage failed and then after a near-fatal car accident, Laurie became addicted to morphine. Now Laurie can barely take care of herself much less her children. Her oldest daughter Katy is not only fed up with her mother's behavior, but terrified that Laurie won't survive the year.
