The legend of Robin Hood is given a grand retelling in this popular and long running series made for television (1955-58). Filmed in Great Britain with the handsome and dashing British actor Richard Greene as Robin, the "outlaws" of Sherwood Forest watch over the people of England and protect them from the cruelty and greed of the ruling aristocrats.

The Angry Village: A terrible drought has brought hard times. While foraging for food, Robin Hood and Little John are accused of aiding the theft of precious grain for a gluttonous lord. Robin must find the real thief before an innocent man is hung.

The Byzantine Treasure: Prince John has stolen a treasure from his own mother... jewel encrusted Byzantine gold plates. Robin must return the heirlooms to the Queen before they are melted down and lost forever.

The Mark: A nobleman commissions an architect to rebuild a chapel... with a dubious purpose. When the craftsman refuses to turn the chapel into a fortress he is arrested. Robin and Friar Tuck must rescue him and save the historic church.

The Thorkil Ghost: On All Hallows Eve, the evil spirit of a Viking haunts Thorkil Castle. Robin Hood and his men must vanquish the ghost before it kills the young lord of the castle.
