Bing Crosby, Joan Blondell and Mischa Auer star in East Side of Heaven, a charming comedy about a singing cab driver who finds himself mixed up in a heap of trouble! Denny Martin (Crosby) is going through a tumultuous time. He just started a new job and his engagement to Mary (Blondell) keeps getting postponed. Denny's woes get even bigger after his friend entrusts him to take care of his 10-month old baby to avoid the risk of losing custody to his millionaire father. Suddenly, it is up to Denny and his Russian roommate (Auer) to keep the baby out of harm's reach!
