Although her parents want her to marry her childhood sweetheart, Justine eventually says "I do" to Ramsay and the two set out together on an adventure-filled life, punctuated by the births of their children, the company's soaring success, dangerous stagecoach attacks and even a meeting with President Abraham Lincoln. When the Civil War divides the family, Ramsay's loyalty to his job just may cost him the love of his life.
