Eleven two-person teams compete for $1 million dollars in the 25th season of "The Amazing Race". With fans cheering in support from the sidelines, New York City's Times Square serves as the starting line in the Race as the teams continue on to traverse 26,000 miles across eight countries, including first-time visits to the United States Virgin Islands, Malta and the Shetland Islands of Scotland. Along the way, the racers face varied challenges including learning the complex steps of Changing of the Guard for the English Court; working like Shetland Sheepdogs and shepherding sheep through an obstacle course; rappelling down Malta's Blue Grotto; and tightrope walking between towers of a high-rise Singapore hotel. During the season, teams compete in the 300th leg of the series, driving a go-kart around Sicily's Mount Pellegrino, in an ode to the world's oldest sports car racing event. The teams include married pro surfers Bethany Hamilton, a shark attack survivor, and Adam Dirks; wrestling stars Brooke Adams and Robbie E; as well as "Survivor: South Pacific" contestants Whitney Duncan and Keith Tollesfson. The season also introduces a new immunity called "The Save," awarded to those coming in first in the first leg of the race. The winning team could use it before Leg 9, if they came in last place on an elimination leg. The 25th installment of the reality series aired in Fall 2014. "The Amazing Race" has earned 10 Outstanding Reality Competition Program Emmys *. *Outstanding Reality Competition Program Emmys - 2014, 2012, 2011, 2009, 2008, 2007, 2006, 2005, 2004, 2003
