Based on the popular science fiction film, ULTRAVIOLET CODE 044 is an anime series produced by the legendary studio, Madhouse. 044 is a female super-soldier, genetically manipulated by a virus which gives her incredible fighting ability, but greatly reduces her life expectancy. She is sent on a mission to eliminate an outlaw group known as the Phage, but ends up becoming an enemy to both the Phage and her own government.
