Nancy (Academy Award winner Loretta Young, 1947, Best Actress, The Farmer's Daughter) has found a great basement apartment in Greenwich Village so her husband, Jeff (Academy Award nominee Brian Aherne, 1939, Best Supporting Actor, Juarez), can work on his mystery novel. But the apartment is not quite as it seems, and when a dead body is found in their courtyard, the couple has a real-life murder mystery to solve with a whole building of suspects to choose from.
