Leading lady Bessie Love (1898-1986) starred in the silent version of The Lost World (1925) and earned an Oscar nomination as Best Actress for The Broadway Melody (1929). Her successful career continued almost to the end of her life and earned her a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. After rising to fame in D.W. Griffith's Orphans Of The Storm (1921), Joseph Schildkraut would have memorable roles in scores of Hollywood classics including Cleopatra (1934), The Crusades (1935) and The Diary Of Anne Frank (1959), to name a few. He would bring home an Oscar in 1937 for his portrayal of Alfred Dreyfus in The Life of Emil Zola. Young April features Joseph's father, journeyman actor Rudolph Schildkraut, as King Stefan.
