Hobart Bosworth was a top star of the early years of Hollywood. He formed his own company, Hobart Bosworth Productions, to film a series of Jack London stories beginning in 1913 with The Sea Wolf which he directed and also starred in as the notorious Captain Wolf Larson. Thirty-one films were produced, ending with The Sea Lion in 1921. Leading lady Bessie Love (1898-1986) starred in the silent version of The Lost World (1925) and earned an Oscar nomination as Best Actress for The Broadway Melody (1929). Her successful career continued almost to the end of her life and earned her a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
