Warren William and Bette Davis get out the vote in this snappy political comedy costarring Guy Kibbee. "He's the dumbest human being I ever saw. Every time he opens his mouth he subtracts from the sum total of human knowledge." So states Hal S. Blake (William), campaign manager to dimwitted Zachary Hicks (Kibbee), the Progressive Party's candidate for governor. Aided by his secretary Kay (Davis) and promised a $50,000 bonus if Hicks wins, the unscrupulous Blake leaves no stone unturned as he sells the boob as dumb but honest, and the champion the people deserve. Released to coincide with the Chicago National Conventions of June 1932, The Dark Horse was cowritten by legendary wit Wilson Mizner.
