A gang of thieves led by Monty Mordant have been robbing the trappers blind. When they swindle Chief White Cloud out of his furs, he offers to lead Sergeant Morton to their remote hideout. Riding to the meeting spot, Morton discovers that White Cloud has been murdered. Following the clues found at the scene of the killing, he vows to hunt down and bring the bloodthirsty gang to justice.Courage of the North is the first of two "Morton of the Mounties" films starring John Preston and produced by Empire Pictures, the other being Timber Terrors (1935).
